May - Friday 11th. 7.00pm: The Jester Ball
Masquerade Ball!
With two stages, two bars and two of Canberra’s most inflammatory acts – namely raucous rock 'n' roll band
The Spirits of the Dead and controversial dance troupe MissKitka’s
House of Burlesque – the Jester Ball will take place at the Albert Hall from 7pm on the 11th of May. The night will
ignite with wild poetry and sultry jazz, the haunting murmur of a twisted string quartet and the sombre sounds of Tom Woodward’s
latest release, Blue Day Requiem. Performing songs off
the album will be jazz-rock orchestra The Tom Woodward Ensemble, and film crews will capture the evening to produce a film
clip for the album’s first single. So bring your own mask and leave your inhibitions at home. The Jester Ball is for
anyone with the spirit to do something different, and will be a celebration of the imagination and a grand cultural gesture
to the Canberra community at large. Certainly a night not to be missed.
At $20, tickets are available from Landspeed, Songland and The Street Theatre, and will be $25
on the door.
